About Us
Expanding the architecture curriculum to better our communities

Mission Statement
The mission of Our LA Neighbors is to encourage and advocate for current social crises to be integrated in the architecture curriculum by providing the community with the information and resources necessary. By providing a range of sources, we close the gap between students on campus and the outside world.
With this accessible platform, we give students the tools to focus and fight for social justice with their architectural skills. In turn, we uplift new generations of architects that are educated, compassionate, and critical of the complexities of the Los Angeles housing crisis.
Hannah Doan and Ashley Morales are architecture students at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and will graduate in Spring 2022. They started this website because they believe students in Los Angeles county should be aware and engaged in the social and political issues of the area, specifically the humanitarian crisis of homelessness. The architecture curriculum begs for expansion into real-life issues, and architecture students should be invested in creating positive change for our community.
